Overview
Telecom operators around the world have traditionally used Digital Loop Carriers (DLC) to interconnect large optical fiber based networks with customers using copper in the last mile. As customers began demanding more services such as high-bandwidth connectivity, these DLCs have been modified and adapted to support Digital Subscriber Line services in the same cabinet. However, this approach has an adverse effect on service manageability, customer care and skill-set management for the operator.

OMNACOM offers OMNIAX: a Universal Loop Carrier, designed to support all narrowband as well as broadband services on the same system, while supporting a range of optical fiber interfaces. The OMNIAX has an integrated management interface that operators can use to seamlessly configure a range of services, as well as all the monitoring and reporting capabilities needed to offer service level guarantees for their customers.

The OMNIAX offers all the services needed and is based on a low-investment, future-proof platform for telecom operators’ Next Generation Networks. These services can be selectively enabled as and when the market demands it.
